Are you ready for an escape from the sweaty crowds of the Orlando theme parks with Original Orlando Tours to a hidden local beach at Cape Canaveral? If so, we’ll be by to pick you up and leave behind Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World behind for a day to enjoy the pristine sands of one of the most private and beautiful beaches in Florida!
Located on a barrier island near Cape Canaveral, this 25 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean beach, dunes and Mosquito Lagoon is the longest expanse of undeveloped land along the East Coast of Florida. This stretch of sand on the Atlantic Ocean is a federally protected area and largely only known to local Central Floridians. You will also have some extraordinary views of the Kennedy Space Center from your Cape Canaveral beach paradise!
Enjoy up to 2 hours of beach time before we head to lunch at a legendary iconic restaurant for freshly caught rock shrimp (other options available). Rock shrimp is a local delicacy which tastes much like lobster and melts in your mouth like butter.
After your day away with Original Orlando Tours, you arrive back refreshed and re-charged to head back into the throngs of the tourist zone for the rest of your Orlando vacation!
This tour is subject to availability and will be followed up for confirmation upon booking.
Approximately 4 hours total (add two to three hours for any upgrade above). Please note that Orlando traffic conditions can vary widely while I-4 is under construction. This tour typically operates all year.
You may receive a full or partial refund by notifying us via email at info@originalorlando.com of the cancellation. No refunds shall be issued for cancellations not received at least 72 hours in advance of the starting time and date of your tour. Please review your Terms and Conditions document for other cancellation provisions.
Rock shrimp were once considered “garbage shrimp” (they were also known as “peanuts”, “trash” and “hardheads”) and were largely ignored by fisherman because their hard shells made them difficult to eat. In 1968 local fisherman Rodney Thompson designed a high-speed tail splitter and started Cape Canaveral Shrimp to process rock shrimp from a growing fleet of boats based in Port Canaveral. Today over 5 million pounds of rock shrimp are harvested each year; most of that haul is still processed at Cape Canaveral Shrimp for distribution around the world. Sunny recommends having your rock shrimp served broiled and dipped in butter, just like lobster!
This tour is only offered in English. Florida weather is unpredictable and may impact the tour. If the weather is deemed unsafe by our guide due to weather conditions prior to commencement of the tour, Original Orlando Tours will offer a substitute tour at the original day and time, offer a credit to be used on any future Original Orlando Tours adventure, or fully refund the tour fee, the choice of which is at the option of our special guests impacted by the weather disruption. There are no refunds once the tour has commenced (i.e., the vehicle has left your departure point). This tour also includes an Orlando discount savings booklet. We suggest wearing a hat, comfortable shoes and sunscreen to make your tour an enjoyable one in warm months as well as a jacket in cooler weather.
