Come join Original Orlando Tours on a journey to the past to experience old Florida roadside attraction tourism! Long before Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios, there were dozens of roadside attractions in the Orlando area. Several still survive, and we know where they are! So join us for a fun trip back in time as we take you out of the tourist zone to the suburban country for a visit to the historic Florida Citrus Tower, the Presidents Hall of Fame museum and a local winery.

The Florida Citrus Tower, until recently the tallest observation structure in Florida at 226 feet tall (69 m), with its 360-degree observation deck, has been a landmark attraction since 1956, long before Walt Disney brought his magic to the Orlando area. From the top of the Florida Citrus Tower, you can see downtown Orlando’s skyline (26 miles away), as well as iconic structures such as Walt Disney World’s Space Mountain, the Contemporary Resort Hotel, and EPCOT’s SpaceShip Earth.

Next up is the Presidents Hall of Fame museum. Founded as the House of Presidents wax museum in 1960, the exhibited has since expanded to include portions of world famous authentic miniature replicas of the White House.

Finally we’ll tour a local winery. Your visit begins with a 15-minute video presentation showing the evolution of bottle of wine, from the growing of the Florida grapes, to the actual wine making process, and finishing with the bottling and labeling. Afterwards you’ll be escorted to the production area and a spectacular view of the vineyards where the grapes are grown and harvested.

Next up it’s time to try some complimentary samples from a selection of award-winning wines ranging from dry to sweet. You can purchase any bottles that you like as well as other country foods and gifts in the local winery retail store before heading back to your hotel after your memorable time travel day to the old Florida past!

Season/Time:

Approximately 4 hours total. Please note that Orlando traffic conditions can vary widely while I-4 is under construction. This tour typically operates all year.

Cancellation Policy:

You may receive a full or partial refund by notifying us via email at info@originalorlando.com of the cancellation. No refunds shall be issued for cancellations not received at least 72 hours in advance of the starting time and date of your tour. Please review your Terms and Conditions document for other cancellation provisions.

Sunny’s Local Tips and Bits:

An “old Florida” tradition is taking a picture in front of the mini Mt. Rushmore at the Presidents Hall of Fame Museum. If you have the picture taken at the right angle, it looks like you are at the real place! The local winery may be able to ship bottles that you purchase directly to your home. Check with them on site to see if your state is eligible for shipping. Built in 1956 to allow visitors to observe the miles of surrounding orange groves, the Florida Citrus Tower was once among the most famous landmarks of the Orlando area.

This tour is only offered in English. Florida weather is unpredictable and may impact the tour. If the weather is deemed unsafe by our guide due to weather conditions prior to commencement of the tour, Original Orlando Tours will offer a substitute tour at the original day and time, offer a credit to be used on any future Original Orlando Tours adventure, or fully refund the tour fee, the choice of which is at the option of our special guests impacted by the weather disruption. There are no refunds once the tour has commenced (i.e., the vehicle has left your departure point). We suggest wearing a hat, comfortable shoes and sunscreen to make your tour an enjoyable one in warm months as well as a jacket in cooler weather. PLEASE NOTE: On-site age-verification is required to participate in the wine tasting. For US citizens a state issued driver’s license, military ID, or state ID card is required. International guests must have an original passport. The winery grants no exceptions to these rules.
